Background & Rationale

The School of Business, Economics, and Entrepreneurship (SOBEE) is a very critical educational unit within our Professional College. The school works in close synchrony with all other centers or schools within our professional college, such as the Department of Research and Data Analysis and the School of Computer Science and IT, in order to achieve its objectives. The SOBEE was established not only to help students appreciate the business and economic theory but also to be able to apply them in real life and industry. Because of the massive unemployment situation in our country and continent, which is largely attributable to the irrelevance of a number of course studied in school to the job market, as well as lack of relevant practical skills that are needed to succeed on the job market, our programs are designed in such a way to make our students easily employable after school. In fact, the real focus of most of our program inculcates the spirit of entrepreneurship and business success into our students by teaching them both theoretical and practical principles required for them not only to develop meaning corporate careers but also to start and grow sustainable businesses. By so doing, our programs seek to help reduce the employment problem in our country and continent and also contribute to economic growth and development.

About the Program

The ADVANCED Professional Diplomas, Post-Graduate DIPLOMAS , Executive Certificates & and Executive Diplomas offered by the SOBEE are designed for individuals who wish to study in a stimulating and challenging academic and professional environment, who have dreams of becoming business leaders, effective corporate managers, consultants, and successful entrepreneurs. We are here to help you acquire advanced knowledge, skills, and practical expertise to help you unleash your potentials and dreams of becoming a successful business leader, consultant, corporate manager, entrepreneur, policy analyst, social worker, economic analyst, financial economist, to mention just a few.

The eligible student must possess one of the entry requirements

SSSCE/WASSCE with asses in Core English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus any three (3) elective passes in: General Arts, Visual Arts, General Science, Home Economics, Business or General Science.
Five (5) GCE “O” level credit including, English Language, Mathematics and Science and Two (2) “A” Level passes, one of which must be mathematics or Science.
Students possessing professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ICA, ICEG, ACCE can also enroll.
Graduates with a bachelor (BS or BA) and Masters Degrees (MA, MBA, MSC, MPhil) can enroll. Such students must note that they may receive exemptions from certain courses if they are able to provide evidence that they studied, understood and passed it whilst pursuing their degree or masters programs.

Mature Applicants

Must be at least 25 years old
Must have five GCE “O” Level credits including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
Must have three (3) years of relevant working experience (evidence of practical experience is required).
Must pass a written examination and interview.

Aims and Objectives

The principal goal of the program is to prepare students for meaningful employment as corporate employees, business managers, consultants, economic researchers, financial economists, forensic accountants and auditors, policy analysts, development advisors, and leading practitioners in the fields of business, economics, accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship.

The program aims to:

Provide integrated academic and professional studies in various relevant areas of business, economics, accounting, finance, auditing and assurance services, and forensics, to meet the needs of firms, corporate entities, other organizations, and society.
Develop broad technical and professional skills and expertise that translate into making our students become leading players in the industry with regards to the areas of Economics, Forensic Auditing, Accounting and finance, Fraud Examination, Entrepreneurship & Business Enterprise Development, Business Consulting Entrepreneurship, NGO Entrepreneurship & MANAGEMENT, IT Entrepreneurship and Cinematography Entrepreneurship.
To offer EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOPS that serve as short term Continuous Professional Development Programs (CDPD) designed to further build the capacities of graduates, managers, and corporate leaders.
